Egypt: Participation of the CJCA in the 8th High-Level Meeting of African Constitutional and Supreme Courts

On 27 and 28 January, the eighth "high-level conference of Presidents of African Constitutional and Supreme Courts and Constitutional Councils" was held in Cairo at the invitation of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt.
The CJCA was invited to this event as an observer.
No fewer than 34 African and non-African Courts and Councils were present, including many members of the CJCA.
The theme of the Conference was: "The constitutional protection of rights and freedoms in exceptional circumstances".
The CJCA was represented by its President Mr Luke MALABA, Chief Justice of Zimbabwe and Mr Moussa LARABA, Secretary General of the Association.
In addition to the exchange of experiences and case law, the SG of the CJCA established new contacts, particularly with Courts that are not yet members of the CJCA, such as Liberia.
It should be noted that the delegation of the CJCA was received, along with the presidents of the constitutional courts, supreme courts and African constitutional councils participating in the meeting, by the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mr. Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.
