The Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CJCA) held its 18th Session of the Executive Bureau

The Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions of Africa (CJCA) held its 18th Session of the Executive Bureau on 24 January 2025 in Cairo, at the kind invitation of the Supreme Constitutional Court of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The following African Constitutional and Supreme Courts participated in this Session of the Executive Bureau, as members of the Bureau:
The Supreme Court of Zimbabwe
The Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt
The Constitutional Court of DR Congo
The Constitutional Court of Gabon
The Constitutional Council of Mozambique
The Constitutional Council of Côte d'Ivoire
The Constitutional Court of South Africa
The Constitutional Court of Angola
The Supreme Court of Seychelles
The Supreme Court of Somalia
The Supreme Court of Zambia
The Constitutional Court of Morocco
The Constitutional Court of Algeria
During this 18th session, the members of the Executive Board:
- Examined and adopted the moral and financial report for the year 2024;
- Examined and adopted the provisional budget for the year 2025;
- Examined and adopted the action programme for the year 2025;
- To assess the status of the financial contributions of the Member Courts;
- Review Conference memberships;
- Debated the draft cooperation agreement with the African Union;
- Preparations for the World Conference on Constitutional Justice, scheduled to take place in Spain in October 2025.
- Follow-up to the presentation on the preparations for the Eighth General Assembly scheduled to take place in Kinshasa-DR Congo, in 2026.
The Presidents of African Constitutional and Supreme Courts participating in the 18th session of the Executive Bureau of the Conference of African Constitutional Jurisdictions (CJCA), accepted the offer of the Constitutional Court of Algeria to host the 19th Session of the Executive Bureau of the CJCA, which will be held in the last week of January 2026.
It should be recalled that Algiers is home to the headquarters of the CJCA as well as its General Secretariat.
