Indonesia: 1st Joint CJCA-AACC Conference

A delegation of the CJCA led by its President, Hon. Laurinda Cardoso, participated in the work of the 1st Joint Conference of the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts (AACC) and its counterpart the Conference of African Constitutional Jurisdictions (CJCA) held in Bali, Indonesia on October 4, 2022, and this at the opening of the 5th WCCJ.

Nine member jurisdictions of two associations took part in this 1st Joint AACC-CCJA Conference under the theme"Promoting Afro-Asian cooperation for the protection of the fundamental rights of peoples"

The purpose of this Conference, the first of its kind, was to commemorate the "Bandung Declaration" of 1955 and to promote cooperation between the countries of Asia and Africa in the field of constitutional justice, based on respect for fundamental human rights, in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations; as well as on equality of all the races and equality of all nations, large and small, as endorsed in the "Bandung Declaration" of 1955.

The2nd Joint AACC-CCJA Conference will be held this time on African soil, in Angola, in 2025.

At the end of the work, the participants adopted the Bali Communiqué.
